What is picture or video messaging?

Picture and video messaging, or Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), lets you take a picture or video with your mobile phone or smartphone and send it to another mobile device or email address.

Sending picture and video messages

You can send picture and video messages using any camera-enabled mobile phone. Here’s how:

  1. Select Menu.
  2. Select Camera or Pictures.
  3. Select Camera or Camcorder.
  4. Snap your photo or record your video.
  5. Select Send.
  6. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter the recipient’s contact information and send the message.

As of December 31, 2013 some CDMA phones will no longer be able to send picture and video messages.

Receiving picture and video messages

You can receive picture and video messages using any camera-enabled mobile phone or smartphone.

Viewing picture and video messages

You can view a picture or video message simply by opening the message the same way you would a text message.

Sending picture and video messages to people outside Canada

You can send picture and video messages to mobile phone users subscribed to many different U.S. providers.
