The CDMA network (an older network technology) will be replaced by the 4G network in regions across Canada starting on the following dates:

What do these changes mean if I am a customer with a CDMA device?

Customers will no longer be able to use their CDMA phone for calls (including 9-1-1), texts, and data after the end dates in the regions above.

Top ups will no longer be available on the start dates mentioned in the table below. Prepaid balances will also expire across all regions on the balance expiry date mentioned below; however, if you upgrade your phone (to one that runs on the 4G network technology) before the balance expiry, the balance will be transferred to your new phone and the top-up blocks will be removed:

What should I do if I am a customer with a CDMA device in these areas?

Will I still be able to make/receive calls (including 911 services)?

Starting on the dates above, customers on the CDMA network in these areas will no longer be able to make or receive calls.

Will I still be able to send/receive texts?

Starting on the dates above, customers on the CDMA network in these areas will no longer be able to send or receive texts.

Will I still have data connectivity?

Starting on the dates above, Customers on the CDMA network in these areas will no longer be able to utilize data. This includes Mobile Cards, Turbo Sticks and tethering.

How do I know if I'm on the CDMA network?

Customers can identify if they're on the CDMA network by looking at the display near the battery logo. CDMA devices will have an ESN/MEID identifier.
